FYI, there are two more books in this series, Iโve reviewed both ๐
Another trip to Ellender in the bagโand I can confidently say my obsession with Fox from book one was not in vain.
“I don’t think it’s going to fit.”
“Trust me, when you’re wet enough, you’ll take all of me”
… EXCUSE ME ๐

Confirmed: quiet, broody men with blue eyes and a man bun will, in fact, ruin my life. (Fortunately, I already have one of those ๐)
Fox is exactly what I wanted him to beโrock hard on the outside (this is NOT a ๐ joke…for the most part ๐
), mildly squishy on the inside.
He may be a quiet giant, but when he does speak? It counts.
Also, I know Eugene is technically just the cute animal sidekick, but I will hear no slander. That squirrel is precious and must be protected at all costs.
NowโAurelia.
I love how stubborn she is. I hate how stubborn she is.
Like, sisโฆ Fox is quite literally trying to KEEP YOU ALIVE. Maybe, perhaps, just consider listening to the man? If he wasnโt immortal, Iโd say youโre shaving years off his life with the stress.
At the same time, her stubbornness works for her character. Sheโs got big Gryffindor energyโbrave? Yes. Adventurous? Check. Complete disregard for common sense and personal safety? In spades.
I loved the push and pull between these twoโAurelia charging headfirst into danger and Fox begrudgingly trailing behind. And yetโฆ he keeps following her ๐ฅน
Which brings me to my question.
The book touches on the whole soul-bond vs. fated mate debate, with Fae believing bonds are forged and wolves believing theyโre destined. So now Iโm sitting here like:
Did they choose each otherโฆ or were they always going to end up here?
๐๐
(Not me getting way too deep into things๐
)
While Iโm on the topic of bondsโฆ
Jett.
The wings.
Is he able to summon them whenever because of Connell, or is something else going on? ๐
Catch me anxiously watching and waiting for answers.
And finally, the most important takeaway from this book:
โItโs hard to do magic without hands.โ โ Fox
He spoke. We listened. (And by โwe,โ I mean Aureliaโฆ)
This was another solid five stars for me. Now if youโll excuse me, Iโll be over here continuing to spiral about soul-bonds, wings, and whatever Jett has going on.
If youโre like meโprone to jumping in at the end of a seriesโcheck out my reviews of A Thorn in Every Heart and A Storm in Every Heart ๐
