FYI, there are two more books in this series, Iโ€™ve reviewed both ๐Ÿ‘€

Another trip to Ellender in the bagโ€”and I can confidently say my obsession with Fox from book one was not in vain.

“I don’t think it’s going to fit.”

“Trust me, when you’re wet enough, you’ll take all of me”

EXCUSE ME ๐Ÿ’€

Confirmed: quiet, broody men with blue eyes and a man bun will, in fact, ruin my life. (Fortunately, I already have one of those ๐Ÿ˜)

Fox is exactly what I wanted him to beโ€”rock hard on the outside (this is NOT a ๐Ÿ† joke…for the most part ๐Ÿ˜…), mildly squishy on the inside.
He may be a quiet giant, but when he does speak? It counts.

Also, I know Eugene is technically just the cute animal sidekick, but I will hear no slander. That squirrel is precious and must be protected at all costs.

Nowโ€”Aurelia.

I love how stubborn she is. I hate how stubborn she is.

Like, sisโ€ฆ Fox is quite literally trying to KEEP YOU ALIVE. Maybe, perhaps, just consider listening to the man? If he wasnโ€™t immortal, Iโ€™d say youโ€™re shaving years off his life with the stress.

At the same time, her stubbornness works for her character. Sheโ€™s got big Gryffindor energyโ€”brave? Yes. Adventurous? Check. Complete disregard for common sense and personal safety? In spades.

I loved the push and pull between these twoโ€”Aurelia charging headfirst into danger and Fox begrudgingly trailing behind. And yetโ€ฆ he keeps following her ๐Ÿฅน

Which brings me to my question.

The book touches on the whole soul-bond vs. fated mate debate, with Fae believing bonds are forged and wolves believing theyโ€™re destined. So now Iโ€™m sitting here like:

Did they choose each otherโ€ฆ or were they always going to end up here?

๐Ÿ‘€๐Ÿ‘€
(Not me getting way too deep into things๐Ÿ˜…)

While Iโ€™m on the topic of bondsโ€ฆ

Jett.

The wings.

Is he able to summon them whenever because of Connell, or is something else going on? ๐Ÿ‘€
Catch me anxiously watching and waiting for answers.

And finally, the most important takeaway from this book:

โ€œItโ€™s hard to do magic without hands.โ€ โ€” Fox

He spoke. We listened. (And by โ€œwe,โ€ I mean Aureliaโ€ฆ)

This was another solid five stars for me. Now if youโ€™ll excuse me, Iโ€™ll be over here continuing to spiral about soul-bonds, wings, and whatever Jett has going on.

If youโ€™re like meโ€”prone to jumping in at the end of a seriesโ€”check out my reviews of A Thorn in Every Heart and A Storm in Every Heart ๐Ÿ‘€
