Not that there was ever any doubt, but Scarlett’s kickoff of the Florida chapter of the Iron Outlaws was โจflawlessโจ.

Sheriff Caldwell?
Sir, go chew glass.
This isn’t quite enemies-to-lovers. I’d call it inherited animosity. Her father is the sack of human excrement responsible for Knox’s brother’s death, and Knox is the president of a motorcycle club in a town that’s spent years lumping Maren in with her father’s mistakes.
That said, it was pretty clear that even when they were younger, there had always been something there.
Which means it should surprise absolutely no one that the spice was spicing QUICK.
Scarlett did not make us wait.
Eight chapters in? Light the damn match.
Scarlett described this MC chapter as “old school,” which had me expecting an overabundance of misogyny, sexism, and men who looked like they’d call women “little lady” unironically.
Instead, I was pleasantly surprised.
The Florida chapter felt very different from Colorado. To me, Knox felt more like a reformed King than pre-Greer Butcher.
(If that sentence meant absolutely nothing to you, congratulations. You now have homework. Go read the Iron Outlaws and Iron Outlaws Colorado series.)
Now, while this story technically had two sources of antagonism, let’s take a moment to discuss the true villain of this book: Sheriff Caldwell.
Yes, the guys have an actual missile launcher pointed at them at one point.
Did I care?
No. (OK, yes, but they had it under control)
Because this khaki-wearing MF had me ready to square up.
(Was he actually wearing khaki? I have no idea. In my head he absolutely was.)
Evil comes in many forms, and for some reason this man’s particular brand of terribleness got under my skin like a splinter I couldn’t stop poking.
So, Sheriff Caldwell:

I can’t wait for the next book.
And Scarlett? You almost took me out with Knox’s knife-to-the-tree move.
