‘You said you didn’t want to remember, so if this is an attempt to distract me, I suggest you find another method – because if you continue like this, I’ll make very damn sure you remember every single minute of this night for the rest of your life, morning star.’

🌹Proper Lady Assassin

🪞Flower Magic

If you’re looking for your next read, how about an illustrious assassin with dreams of being a proper lady who can wield a stuffed swordfish as a weapon? Oh, and let’s not forget a fae king who is equal parts vulnerable and a bit of a little shit.

I don’t know what else I can possibly say about the Queen of Banter, @authorlisettemarshall, yet here I am, once again, to remind you all that if you haven’t read a Lisette Marshall book yet, you have not lived! (Dramatic? Maybe. Accurate? Absolutely).

While this is considered a novella, at just 270 pages, Lisette manages to develop both her story and her characters fully. Is there a lot more background I’d love to know about Briannis and Moridyr? Of course! But I didn’t feel like I was missing anything, and the story stands strong on its own.

And a magic system based on the meaning of flowers?! One of my favorite things about LM books is how she always includes an element I haven’t yet seen in another book—no small feat considering how saturated the romance and romantasy genres are!
