Stacia. Why.

I knew—I KNEW—this book was going to leave me emotionally wrecked, staring into the abyss, wondering how I got here and how long it’ll take before I recover. Stacia Stark has a very specific talent for endings that leave you hollowed out in the best (worst?) way.

I also feel personally victimized by my own brain for not picking this up sooner.

We Who Will Die is a chaotic, delicious mashup of Hunger Games-style competition, vampires, and gladiator-level violence—and if you’re thinking, there’s no way that works, I promise you: it absolutely does.

Arvelle is the embodiment of eldest sister syndrome, which means she immediately had my heart. Granted, she has it a bit rougher than I do—I stress about answering questions on taxes and updating resumes, while she’s trying to keep her brothers from starving and one of them from dying entirely. So, yes. Arvelle reigns supreme.

If this book taught me anything, it’s that red flag MMCs are my entire personality. Ti is… fine. Sure. But I am fully, unapologetically demanding that Rorrick be the MMC and no one else.

Is he unhinged? Yes.

Is he a murderer? Undeniably.

Do I desperately want him to be a morally gray stud muffin instead of a villain? God, please. Let it be so.

The story had me completely hooked, even though I did manage to call a few plot points early—specifically who Ti’s father was and the identity of the person murdering the gladiators. That said, it didn’t take away from my enjoyment one bit.

I’m obsessed. I need more Rorrick in my life. I am seated for whatever messy, violent, emotionally devastating chaos is coming next.

Am I the drama?

Yes.

Do I care?

Not even a little.
