I can’t believe this was the final book in the series! 😭

I fell head over heels for every single one of the Iron Outlaw MC men and women, and now I’m completely heartbroken that our time with them has ended. How am I supposed to move on without knowing if Avery gets her own MC? Or getting more of Avery and Niro’s chaotic shenanigans?!

Honestly, Vex felt like the most underdeveloped, background character throughout the series, so I wasn’t sure how connected I’d feel to him. Sure, I knew I’d enjoy the book—because at this point, there isn’t an S. Cole book I haven’t enjoyed—but I didn’t expect to adore him.

Turns out, I’ve never been happier to be wrong. Vex won me over completely. He’s the definition of a salt-of-the-earth MMC: genuinely good, quietly confident, and deeply caring. His ability to put others first made him so attractive, and that quiet strength of his? Chef’s kiss.

One thing I’ve loved about this series is the way it handles the theme of brotherhood, and wow, did this book drive that home. The MC’s support for Vex, their willingness to let him move on if that’s what he needed, and their understanding that the MC is a choice built on trust and commitment—it all hit so hard. I didn’t think I could fall for these men any harder, but here we are.

Thoughts:

  • An MMC who’s aware of and sympathetic toward mental health? Swoon.
  • “Babe, if you’re hungry, go get a snack. If you’re tired, go get some sleep. But don’t talk to me like that when you kissed me with that same mouth less than twenty-four hours ago.”
Did this man basically tell her to eat a Snickers? 😂
  • “And I’m going to have a boyfriend, and he’s going to wear a patch that says, ‘Property of Cupcake.’” Future queen vibes, right there.
  • Not the shouty skills before the listening skills. 😆
  • Once again, Niro is in a league of his own:
“She’s not going anywhere, and you and I both know it. She can be independent because you give her space to be who she is. So, if an independent woman chooses you, they want you just for being you. Not what you can bring her and give her and do for her. Because with an independent woman, it’s going to take a while for her to let you help her, because she’s probably got really deep reasons why she’s always done things alone. She’s been abused, she’s been forced to carry others, she’s been left behind or abandoned to fend for herself. Or she’s been let down a million times, especially by men, until she genuinely believes she’s the only person who can look out for herself. It takes time and persistence to break that kind of shit down.”
  • Not me tearing up during the church scene. 🥹 (Also, can we talk about how much King grew on me throughout the series?!)
