I just need to get this out of my system:
I freaking 🅻🅾🆅🅴 Susie Tate’s books. Gah!
I thought Lucy and Felix’s story was the crème de la crème, and I knew I’d enjoy Ollie and Lottie’s story from the crumbs we got in Day Dreamer—but I ended up loving it even more than I expected.
I adore Lottie, from her personality to how great a sister she is. Which is why it hurt every time we see how she views herself as “other” and expendable, questioning her place in Ollie’s life (and everywhere else).
Ollie… Oh, Ollie. Our sweet Duke of Dumingham. I loved him in all his Duke glory, but the man managed to put his foot in his mouth an impressive number of times in such a short book. Honestly, quite a feat.
Some extra thoughts glitter:
- Lottie’s level of clumsiness spoke to me on a deep level
- How can a man be so sweet and so clueless all at once?
- Momma Duke seriously pissed me off
- Loved seeing more Lottie/Vicky interactions
- Enjoyed Lottie/Haley’s silent communication
- Lottie backhanding Blake and calling him a “motherfucker” will live rent-free in my head forever
I already can’t wait for Outlier—I have a feeling Vicky’s story is going to bring ALL the feels.
