What’s the Story?
It’s been three years since Axel pulled the ultimate self-sabotage, breaking his own heart (and Leah’s) by pushing her away. Both of them have done their best to move on, but some loves just don’t fade.
Leah’s on the rise with her first gallery showing, and Axel? Yeah, he’s not missing that. When they reunite, sparks fly, hearts ache, and Axel is determined to make things right. But Leah? She’s not exactly rolling out the red carpet.
Will Axel and Leah find their happily ever after, or will they learn that not every love story is meant for forever?
My Thoughts
God damn it – I jumped right into All That We Are Together after finishing book one because I couldn’t deal with the emotional hangover. Jokes on me because if the first book was emotional, 80% of this one is a soup of emotions, angst, and melancholy. Zero help for that hangover.
After a rough road, we do get a happy ending, but LAWD, the ride there is tough.
Seeing how their separation and heartbreak affected both Leah and Axel leaves you right off the bat with a feeling of melancholy. Leah’s finding herself in college, meanwhile, Axel’s still the misunderstood black sheep of the family. And since he never stood up for himself, his mom still treats his past relationship with Leah as a terrible transgression.
What really hit me? Leah’s time in Paris. It’s not just about finding herself—it’s about wanting Axel in her life without needing him. She grows, she stumbles, and she figures out what really matters.
The writing pulls you in so hard, you’ll practically feel Leah’s and Axel’s struggles as your own. This is both fantastic AND UNFORTUNATE, considering the amount of angst that happens on these pages.
It’s a heart-heavy ride, but the storytelling and emotional depth make it so worth it. Just maybe keep some tissues nearby—you know, for all the emotional rollercoasters you’ll be riding.
