Favorite Finds & Fixations

Oh, look! My first non-book review blog post 😲

I enjoy being a hype girl for the things I enjoy, whether that be books, gadgets, restaurants, etc. I say spread the love! Share new finds! Enable others to spend their hard-earned money on nonsense! (well, maybe not that one… JK I’m 100% an enabler; sit tight and enjoy the ride.)

Now, the goal is to share a monthly post about what brought me joy that month. The reality is that a strict posting schedule is not going to jive with my neurospicy brain 😳

Let’s see what happens, shall we? Oh, and I’m 100% open to being influenced/enabled to spend my money on nonsense, so if you have anything you’re obsessing over lately, shoot me a chat on Insta!

One more thing! I may earn a small commission if you purchase through the links below. Rest assured, I only recommend products I truly love (or am currently obsessing over).

Your support helps keep the blog going—thank you!

TWO WORDS. ONE DREAM COME TRUE.
✨GLITTER✨ ✨ HIGHLIGHTERS✨

While I may want to have words with my ADHD brain 95% of the time, there’s that 5% that makes having to circle back after leaving the apartment to check if I locked the door worth it.

Like when my brain decided to question the existence of glitter highlighters while I sat working on a 89 question long RFP at work.

Spoiler alert: THEY EXIST AND I’VE NEVER BEEN HAPPIER.

LOOK AT THEM. LOOK AT THEM WITH YOU SPECIAL EYES.

Needless to say, all my other highlighters are feeling a little neglected.

SUSIE TATE

There’s no better feeling than discovering a new author (OK, so arguably, there ARE better feelings, but allow me the hyperbole).

You know those reels you come across on Instagram and Facebook: text overlayed over an image, mood music, copy placing you in the character’s shoes (“When your grumpy boss walks in on you, etc., etc.), and usually end with a cliffhanger like, “and then…”? Yeah, those videos are my kryptonite and thank goodness that 90% of those books are included in Kindle Unlimited, or I’d be poor.

That’s how Susie got me; a reel for her novel “Daydreamer” popped up on my Facebook feed exactly as I debated my next read. Needless to say, I was hooked, and I’ve already breezed through five of her books this month 😅

I don’t have reviews for these book because I essentially binge-read for a few days straight 🙈 But I’ll leave you with one quote I loved from each book!

Susie’s humor, combined with loveable and relatable characters, makes her an auto-buy author for me.

Daydreamer

“I didn’t want to hear about my mum and her theories about poultry sexual and mental health problems.”

You can read the first chapter of Daydreamer here!

Broken Heart Syndrome

“My lady parts just spasmed in a good way”

Unperfect

“Yaz, why do I have a stone for recharging vaginas in my house?” Max asked, which I thought was a reasonable question.

Unwanted

“If I could draw, I would only ever draw you.”

Unworthy

“I’ve never felt like that with anyone in my life. I feel like I can’t breathe when I’m not near you. Like I’m underwater and can’t get to the surface. Even being near you with you hating me like this makes me feel more alive than I’ve felt for the last two weeks.”

🦆TEENY TINY DUCKS EVERYWHERE🦆

My best friend asked me if I would pet-sit while she and her husband went on a trip, and because I’ll take any opportunity to:

  1. See her and cause chaos
  2. Leave Florida for a state where the humidity doesn’t make me feel like I’m simultaneously drowning and roasting alive

I said yes.

And because I should never be left unsupervised I decided a good gift to remember me why would be 60 teeny tiny duckies hidden throughout their three level home.

And if we’re being fair, I feel like I’ve given them a gift. Bored? Duck hunt. Don’t know what to do for date night? Duck hunt. Need to entertain guests? Yup. Duck hunt. (Shout out to their friend Ben, who found one in the Scrabble box 😆)

Best $8 I’ve ever spent.

That’s a wrap on my first non-book review post! Who knew I could get this excited about glitter highlighters, tiny ducks, and binge-worthy authors? (TBH, so many people 😅)

Thanks for sticking around as I indulge in all the little things that make adulting worth it. Remember, if you’ve got something you’re obsessing over, slide into my DMs on Insta—I’m always up for being influenced! And hey, if you’re tempted by any of my latest finds, those links help keep the blog alive (and my highlighter collection growing).

Until next time, happy spending and stay sparkly! ✨✌🏻
